About Us

Emmanuel Church Nursery School in Normandy, Surrey was formed in 1970 and has run continuously ever since. We are a non-profit making, Christian-based Nursery. Our children come from Normandy, Guildford and the surrounding area.

Opening times, and visits

The Nursery is open from 9.15am until 12.15pm Mondays to Thursdays during school term time.

Children may also bring a packed lunch and stay until 1.15pm.

Mondays is our usual day to visit the woods, please see Forest School for more information.

We welcome visits from parents and children and invite you to put your child’s name on our waiting list. 

We are registered for a maximum of 21 children. Children can attend from their second birthday.

We are registered and inspected by OFSTED for children aged two to five years.

Our latest OFSTED inspection was carried out in September 2016, giving us a ’GOOD’ rating. The full report is available to view on the  OFSTED website and our parents information table.

We are registered with Surrey County Council for Free Early Education for 2, 3 and 4 year old children.

Aims of Emmanuel Church Nursery School

 · To provide a stimulating, secure and caring Christian atmosphere where children can develop confidence and enjoy the company of other children. 

· To work in partnership with parents to develop their child’s learning so that all children develop into sociable, confident children who eager to learn, independent and ready for school. 

· To treat each child as unique and building positive relationships in an enabling environment we help children to learn and develop at their own pace.  We use the revised Early Years Foundation Stage framework  as a basis for our activities.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

All staff are DBS checked and a strict recruitment policy ensures their suitability to work with children.

All staff attend professional development courses on a regular basis to update their knowledge and skills.
